Dive In: The Magic of Wild Swimming at Elmore

Dive In: The Magic of Wild Swimming at Elmore

Tucked within the rewilding acres of Elmore Court lies a hidden gem - an ancient, spring-fed lake that has gathered more than a few names over the centuries. Some call it Madam’s Pond. Others, the Bottomless Pool. Most simply know it as magic.

Crystal clear and brimming with life, this stretch of water invites you to experience one of nature’s greatest pleasures: the invigorating joy of wild swimming.

Just a short wander from our treehouses, the lake shimmers beneath the trees, waiting for brave bathers and gentle dippers alike. Beside it sits our snug Scandinavian sauna - a warm wooden cocoon where you can thaw out, unwind and feel utterly alive. Whether you’re plunging into the cool depths or warming up in the steamy stillness, it’s an experience that reconnects body and soul with the wild world.

Why take the plunge?

Wild swimming isn’t just a dip - it’s a full body reset. Cold water immersion has been shown to boost circulation, reduce inflammation, lift your mood and calm the mind. Pair that with the soothing heat of the sauna and you’ve got a Nordic-style thermal cycle of hot, cold, rest, repeat. It’s wonderfully energising in summer and quietly transformative in winter, when mist lingers over the water and time seems to stand still.

Booking your swim & sauna

To keep everyone safe and ensure the most peaceful experience, all sessions must be booked in advance of your stay - we can’t offer walk-ins. So, if you feel the call of the cold (and the comfort of the heat), please do get in touch to secure your session in the water and the warmth.

The lake and sauna are open most of the year, weather and wildness permitting.

To book or find out more, email us and we’ll help you dive into the magic.
